Diamond M Stable's War Dancer, who recently took down Arlington fan-favorite Suntracer in the Grade III $100,000 Louisville Handicap in a stretch-long battle, is possible to take on that rival again in the Grade III $150,000 Stars and Stripes on July 12.  Trainer Kenny McPeek reported via text that his charge would also consider other marathons across the country, including the Grade I $500,000 United Nations Stakes on July 6 at Monmouth Park.

War Dancer, by hot sire War Front, also won the Grade II $500,000 Virginia Derby in 2013 and was a sharp second in the Grade II $250,000 Elkhorn Stakes at Keeneland on April 25 - his first attempt at a marathon distance.  The dark bay seems to have found a niche in longer turf races and has been training very well  in Kentucky - including a :59 bullet for five furlongs on May 17 at Keeneland.
