Q B One, the 2-year-old first foal out of champion Beholder, arrived at Santa Anita Park on March 20 to begin his highly anticipated racing career.

A new video from XBTV traces the colt's life beginning with his mother's last race, a victory in the 2016 Breeders' Cup Distaff.

Beholder is the only horse to equal John Henry's record of winning a Grade 1 race five years in a row.

After that race, it was time for Beholder to leave trainer Richard Mandella's barn to begin a second career at Spendthrift Farm as a broodmare. Of the future foal, a son of Uncle Mo, Mandella said: "I hope whoever has him remembers me."

Q B One was foaled on Jan. 23, 2018, and Spendthrift did enlist Mandella to condition him.

At Santa Anita, Q B One is "just learning his lessons and starting to begin more serious work," Mandella said. "And we'll know more about him in probably three or four weeks. But in the meantime, as you can see, he's pretty impressive to watch walk around."

Q B One has posted two timed works, most recently breezing a quarter mile last Saturday in 23.80 seconds.
