As part of a two-van transport from the Louisville airport to Churchill Downs, trainer Todd Pletcher's "heck of a foursome," as track spokesman Darren Rogers said Monday, arrived for the 2018 Kentucky Derby.

Pletcher this year became the first trainer to win four major Derby preps with different horses: Noble Indy in the Louisiana Derby, Audible in the Florida Derby, Vino Rosso in the Wood Memorial and Magnum Moon in the Arkansas Derby.

Pletcher, a two-time Kentucky Derby winner, took last year's race with Always Dreaming, who's also back under the Twin Spires to run the May 4 Alysheba Stakes on the Kentucky Oaks undercard.

"Let’s see if he can add No. 3," Rogers said. "It’s not going to be easy. This is a very, very, very good year for Derby horses — very competitive, very top-heavy in quality. We can’t wait for the next 12 days.”

The trainer needs just one starter to pass legendary D. Wayne Lukas' all-time Derby starters record at 48.
