The Breeders' Cup attracts plenty of international contenders each year, which is an added element to the past performances puzzle. Handicappers Ed DeRosa and Sara Elbadwi discuss some of the angles and methods they use when deciphering through these new faces. 

Although both approach international horses differently to start, they do agree on some of the important things to consider when handicapping a race with an international shipper. The success rate of international trainers is one factor worth noting.
