It’s been a long road back to the races for Michael Newman’s mare Vibrant Worship, but in Saturday night’s Monmouth-at-Meadowlands feature, the daughter of Langfuhr will be making her second start in over 16 months.
“The owner took his time getting her back to the races,” explained Vibrant Worship’s trainer Charlie Harvatt. “We just wanted to make sure she was perfect, and she is.
“She’s been training great. Coming off the layoff she needed her last race and ran well. She should continue to move forward on Saturday night.”
Vibrant Worship’s return race was a sixth-place finish on Aug. 15 over the Monmouth turf when she faced next out winner Love That Kelly.
From 23 career outings she sports a record of 2-2-5 including an in-the-money finish over the Meadowlands turf. She’ll break from post eight with jockey Navin Mangalee back aboard.
The favorite in the mile and a sixteenth event for $25k claimers is Archer Queen, who is 3-1 on Brad Thomas’s morning line. The feature goes as race five on the six-race program. The all-turf Monmouth-at-Meadowlands meet runs Fridays and Saturdays through Nov. 1.
