Ventana Vulnerable in Maryland Sprint?

Ventana has been installed as the 8-5 favorite in Saturday's Grade 3 Maryland Sprint Handicap at Pimlico Race Course but is the Bob Baffert trainee beatable?

If this was a synthetic sprint then Ventana would be a formidable foe but he has dropped four straight and is 1-for-8 on conventional dirt.

China is a viable price alternative to the aforementioned favorite at 6-1. He reunites with winning pilot John Velazquez and has been part of the exacta in four of five dirt sprints. His last out place finish earned a strong number and he sports a bullet work for this.

Ramon Dominguez sticks with outside pace factor Safety Check. The son of Empire Maker, out of recent Hall of Famer Safely Kept, has a ton of raw ability but has yet to run two alike and could regress in his second start off a long layoff.

My Cuz C J, Heritage Hall, Nathan's HQ, Delong Road, Immortal Eyes, and Gattopardo round out the field.
