Use HRN Track Trends to key coast-to-coast Pick 5 on Sunday
This week I wrote about a trend we are following that the coast-to-coast Pick 5 payouts are exceeding expectations week after week.
The $1 Pick 5 features races from Gulfstream and Santa Anita every Saturday and Sunday and a low 15 percent takeout. The $1 base makes it tougher to get coverage on your tickets, which can lead to higher payoffs.
Sunday's edition of the coast-to-coast will feature two races from Gulfstream Park and three from Santa Anita.
Leg | Track | Race | Post time |
Leg A | Gulfstream Park | Race 7 | 3:07 p.m. EST |
Leg B | Santa Anita | Race 4 | *3:30 p.m. EST |
Leg C | Gulfstream Park | Race 8 | 3:37 p.m. EST |
Leg D | Gulfstream Park | Race 9 | 4:07 p.m. EST |
Leg E | Santa Anita | Race 7 | *5:00 p.m. EST |
* Approximate times.
Digging into these races, I consulted HRN's free Track Trends Tool, which will show you the winning stats for all tracks and distances.
Gulfstream Park turf sprints
On Sunday at Gulfstream Park, race 9 is a turf sprints.
Note how well speed and particularly outside speed are going in these turf sprints.
Gulfstream Park turf routes
On Sunday at Gulfstream Park, race 7 is a turf route. Note how speed and stalkers are doing well in Gulfstream turf routes, which is a little different than many other turf tracks around the country.
Santa Anita dirt sprints
On Sunday at Santa Anita, race 4 is a dirt sprint. Note how speed or inside stalkers are winning most of the races, although the average field size is a low 6.5, so that is something to keep in mind.
Good luck playing the coast-to-coast Pick 5. It's a great wager and should continue to pay well the rest of the winter racing season.
