Updated Preakness odds: Not one but two favorites

There is no separating two colts from Bob Baffert’s stable when it comes to betting on the Preakness Stakes. At least not with foreign oddsmakers that are already booking futures bets for the race.

Medina Spirit is best-priced as a 3-1 co-favorite with Concert Tour for the May 15 classic, according to updated odds posted in Central America and in Europe.

After winning the Derby, Medina Spirit is specifically 3-1 at BetOnline.ag, a bookmaker that does business out of Panama. In England he is 5-2 at William Hill U.K. and 9-4 at Bet365, according to the European-based website Oddschecker.com.

Concert Tour, whom Baffert is bringing back from last month’s third-place finish in the Arkansas Derby (G1), is 3-1 at both Bet365 and BetOnline and 5-2 at William Hill U.K.

Although trainer Brad Cox said he was still deciding on his Preakness horses, Derby runner-up Mandaloun is already 4-1 at BetOnline. The English bookmakers have him at 3-1. Stablemate Caddo River, a pacesetter that did not race in the Derby, is best-priced at 7-1.

Domestic bookmakers have not opened Preakness futures. William Hill Nevada said it will not do so before Monday’s draw.

Following are the best Preakness odds between Bet365, BetOnline and William Hill U.K.:

  3-1 Concert Tour

  3-1 Medina Spirit

  4-1 Mandaloun

  7-1 Caddo River

10-1 Midnight Bourbon

14-1 Rombauer

16-1 Crowded Trade
