Updated Preakness 2025 live odds: Track value on betting board

As expected, Kentucky Derby runner-up Journalism is the clear favorite in betting for Preakness 2025 on Saturday at Pimlico.
The winner of the Grade 1 Santa Anita Derby and a pair of Grade 2 races before that, Journalism was showing at 6-5 in all-sources live wagering. He was listed as the 8-5 favorite on the morning line in the field of nine 3-year-olds.
A Curlin colt trained by Michael McCarthy and ridden by Umberto Rispoli, Journalism is 1-for-2 as a favorite, winning at even money in the Santa Anita Derby and losing at 3-1 in the Kentucky Derby.
Justify, the 2018 Triple Crown winner, was the last favorite to win the Preakness. Other top choices since have been sixth-place Improbable in 2019, second-place Authentic in 2020, third-place Medina Spirit in 2021, second-place Epicenter in 2022, third-place Mage in 2023 and second-place Mystik Dan in 2024.
The Preakness is scheduled to start Saturday at 7:01 p.m. EDT.
