Updated Belmont Stakes 2018 odds: 16 horses open for betting
Justify is slightly less of a Las Vegas favorite to win the 2018 Belmont Stakes than where he opened, according to new odds distributed Wednesday by the Wynn Race & Sports Book.
Justify shifted from his 4-5 opening price to even money, while the Wynn also added to the board another Bob Baffert-trained colt, Restoring Hope, following news that he’s possible to join Justify in the June 9 race.
Behind the Triple Crown hopeful is now a clear second choice in Audible, with the Kentucky Derby’s third-place finisher sticking at 7-1. Preakness Stakes runner-up Bravazo moved up a tick to 8-1, now the co-third choice with My Boy Jack.
Hofburg, a wise guy choice in the Derby, appears the same here, dropping from 12-1 to 10-1 since Monday’s open. Vino Rosso (11-1) and Tenfold (12-1) are other top choices on the board before Restoring Hope at 20-1.
On the board are a trio of horses not said to be under Belmont consideration in Lone Sailor (22-1), Enticed (35-1) and Machismo (60-1). Just Whistle is 75-1 coming out of a third-place finish in Belmont’s local prep, the Grade 3 Peter Pan. He has not been mentioned as a candidate to run either as Justify seeks his sweep.
All others listed by the Wynn are probable or possible to enter. Keep up with the latest developments via Horse Racing Nation’s Stakes Tracker.
