Two Adirondack Starters Chase Bonus

For Funny Proposition and Anna Sophia, there will be more at stake in tomorrow’s Grade 2 Adirondack than $150,000 in purse money and graded black type. Should either entrant win the 6 ½-furlong race for 2-year-old fillies, their connections will be awarded the $200,000 Fasig-Tipton Juvenile Jackpot.

Fasig-Tipton has pledged to award the bonus if any graduate of the 2010 Saratoga Selected Yearlings sale wins a graded stakes during the 2011 Saratoga meeting. Mark Casse purchased Funny Proposition for $275,000 at the sale and trains the filly for John Oxley, while Anna Sophia races for her breeder, Siena Farms, after not meeting her reserve when bidding stopped at $290,000.

Should neither horse win on Sunday, there will be four more opportunities to win the Juvenile Jackpot: the Grade 2 Three Chimneys Saratoga Special on Monday, the Grade 2 With Anticipation on September 1, the Grade 1 Spinaway on September 4, and the Grade 1 Three Chimneys Hopeful on September 5. Union Rags will carry for the torch for the Saratoga Select Yearling sale in the Three Chimneys Saratoga Special.
