Turfway Park will lower takeout on its Pick 4 wager from 22 to 14
percent, effective Jan. 1, the Northern Kentucky track announced
Thursday.
The approval was given by the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission at its Wednesday meeting. Takeout is the amount taken off the top of every wagering dollar to go to purses, state taxes and the track’s commission. It essentially is the cost of making a bet.
Turfway Park’s takeout on win, place and show wagers is 17.5 percent. On all exotic wagers except the Pick 4, the takeout is 22 percent.
