Turbulent Descent 6-5 in Filly & Mare Sprint

Turbulent Descent will be a short priced favorite when she takes on twelve others in Friday's Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint at Churchill Downs.

Mike Puype's consistent 3-year-old filly is 3-for-3 at seven furlongs and has been part of the exacta in each of her eight career starts. She was last seen cruising to victory in the G1 Test at Saratoga in August.

Last year's Filly & Mare Sprint runner-up Switch is back for more. The seven panel specialist ran out of ground in six furlong Polytrack prep for this at Keeneland and has been competitive versus the likes of Blind Luck and Havre de Grace in route races this year.

Tanda seems worth a look at 20-1. The Mike Mitchell trainee prepared for this in a downhill turf sprint at Santa Anita and won a graded synthetic sprint prior to that. In her lone dirt start, she rallied for the show in the G1 Acorn last year.
