Tuesday works: Utah Beach leads graded winners on tab
Utah Beach drilled at Keeneland on Tuesday ahead of his start in Saturday’s Chorleywood at Churchill Downs.
The 5-year-old son of English Channel breezed four furlongs in 50 seconds, 39th fastest of 46 at the distance. This was his second timed work since the Grade 3 Louisville.
Utah Beach won the Louisville (G3) at Churchill Downs on May 17, after closing from off the pace. Before that, he captured the Elkhorn (G2) at Keeneland and finished fourth in the Kentucky Cup Classic (G3) at Turfway.

In his last start he won the Louisville (G3) going 1 1/2 miles on the turf at Churchill Downs on May 17 for trainer Ignacio Correas.
Tejano Twist (Practical Joke), a Grade 3 winner (2023 Whitmore), worked four furlongs in 50.8 seconds at Churchill Downs on Tuesday morning. It was the 12th fastest of 19 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Churchill Downs. In his last start he placed sixth in an allowance race going 6 1/2 furlongs on the main track at Churchill Downs on May 16 for trainer Chris Hartman.
