Tuesday works: Tip Top Thomas leads 8 on the tab

Tip Top Thomas, winner of the Grade 3 Indiana Derby last out, worked Tuesday at Belmont Park.

The 3-year-old Volatile colt breezed four furlongs in 48.5 seconds on the training track, third fastest of 28 at the distance.

Trained by Todd Pletcher, Tip Top Thomas won his debut last year and then was second in the Champagne Stakes (G1) in October. He didn't return until April, when he was fourth in an optional-claiming allowance at Keeneland, followed by an optional-claiming allowance win at the Belmont at the Big A meet before his victory over Coal Battle at Horseshoe Indianapolis.

Exaulted (Twirling Candy), a Grade 1 winner (2023 Shoemaker Mile), worked four furlongs in 49.2 seconds at The Thoroughbred Center on Tuesday morning. It was the third fastest of 26 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at The Thoroughbred Center. In his last start he placed eighth in the Prairie Bayou going 1 1/16 miles on the synthetic at Turfway Park on Dec. 14 for trainer Peter Eurton.

Tamara (Bolt d'Oro), a Grade 1 winner (2023 Del Mar Debutante), worked five furlongs in 59.4 seconds at Del Mar on Tuesday morning. It was the fastest of six works at the distance. Her previous work was six days ago going four furlongs at Del Mar. In her last start she placed second in an allowance race going six furlongs on the main track at Del Mar on Nov. 15 for trainer Richard Mandella.

Big Invasion (Declaration of War), a Grade 3 winner (2022 Quick Call), worked four furlongs in 49.0 seconds at Saratoga on Tuesday morning. It was the fastest of six works at the distance. His previous work was eight days ago going four furlongs at Belmont Park. In his last start he placed 10th in the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint going five furlongs on the turf at Del Mar on Nov. 2 for trainer Christophe Clement.

Coastal Mission (Great Notion), a Grade 3 winner (2024 Forty Niner), worked four furlongs in 47.2 seconds at Charles Town on Tuesday morning. It was the fastest of 10 works at the distance. His previous work was eight days ago going three furlongs at Charles Town. In his last start he placed third in the Stymie going one mile on the main track at Aqueduct on March 1 for trainer Jeff Runco.

Kitodan (Point of Entry), a Grade 3 winner (2022 Dueling Grounds Derby), worked four furlongs in 49.0 seconds at Turfway Park on Tuesday morning. It was the seventh fastest of 20 works at the distance. His previous work was 10 days ago going four furlongs at Turfway Park. In his last start he won a starter allowance race going 1 1/16 miles on the turf at Horseshoe Indianapolis on July 14 for trainer Brendan Walsh.

Scalable (Speightstown), a Grade 3 winner (2024 Monmouth Oaks), worked three furlongs in 36.8 seconds at Winstar Training Center on Tuesday morning. It was the third fastest of nine works at the distance. Her previous work was 151 days ago going four furlongs at Belmont Park.
