Tuesday works: Pegasus hopeful leads 14 graded winners on tab

Crupi, who is being pointed to next month’s Grade 1, $3 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational, was among the graded-stakes winners who had timed workouts Tuesday morning.

The winner of the Grade 2 Suburban in June on the Belmont Stakes undercard at Saratoga, breezed a half-mile in 49.3 seconds at Palm Beach Downs. Trainer Todd Pletcher is pointing the 4-year-old Curlin colt owned by Mike Repole and Vinnie Viola for the Pegasus, a 1 1/8-mile race for older horses at Gulfstream Park.

Crupi (Curlin), a Grade 2 winner (2024 Suburban), worked four furlongs in 49.3 seconds at Palm Beach Downs on Tuesday morning. It was the third fastest of 24 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start, he placed fourth in the Clark (G2) going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Churchill Downs on Nov. 29 for trainer Todd Pletcher.

Scythian (Tiz the Law), a Grade 2 winner (2024 Miss Grillo), worked four furlongs in 50.5 seconds at Palm Meadows. It was the 12th fastest of 14 works at the distance. This was her first work since her last race. In her last start, she placed 12th in the John Deere Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf going one mile on the turf at Del Mar on Nov. 1 for trainer Bill Mott.

Chop Chop (City of Light), a two-time Grade 3 winner (2024 Dowager, 2024 Bewitch), worked three furlongs in 38.8 seconds at Palm Beach Downs. It was the slowest of four works at the distance. This was her first work since her last race. In her last start, she won the Dowager (G3) going 1 1/2 miles on the turf at Keeneland on Oct. 20 for trainer Brad Cox.

Abientôt (Not This Time), a Grade 3 winner (2024 Matron), worked four furlongs in 49.9 seconds on turf at Palm Meadows. It was the 10th fastest of 21 works at the distance. This was her first work since her last race. In her last start, she placed 14th in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf going one mile on the turf at Del Mar on Nov. 1 for trainer Mark Casse.

Batten Down (Tapit), a Grade 3 winner (2024 Ohio Derby), worked three furlongs in 39.4 seconds at Payson Park. It was the 24th fastest of 30 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start, he placed fourth in the Discovery going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Belmont at the Big A on Nov. 3 for Mott.

Bold Journey (Hard Spun), a Grade 3 winner (2023 Fall Highweight Handicap), worked three furlongs in 37.0 seconds at Payson Park. It was the fastest of 30 works at the distance. His previous work was nine days ago going four furlongs at Payson Park. In his last start, he placed 10th in the Dubai Golden Shaheen (G1) going about six furlongs on the dirt at Meydan on March 30 for Mott.

Cairo Consort (Cairo Prince), a Grade 3 winner (2023 Sweetest Chant), worked three furlongs in 38.6 seconds at Palm Beach Downs. It was the third fastest of four works at the distance. This was her first work since her last race. In her last start, she placed 10th in the Nassau (G2) going one mile on the turf at Woodbine on June 29 for trainer Kevin Attard.

Durante (Distorted Humor), a Grade 3 winner (2023 Bold Ruler), worked three furlongs in 39.8 seconds at Oaklawn. It was the 12th fastest of 16 works at the distance. His previous work was five days ago going three furlongs at Oaklawn. In his last start, he placed fifth in the Ring The Bell going six furlongs on the main track at Oaklawn on Dec. 7 for trainer David Jacobson.

Ice Chocolat (Goldikovic), a Grade 3 winner (2024 Poker), worked three furlongs in 37.4 seconds at Casse Training Center. It was the faster of two works at the distance. His previous work was 157 days ago going four furlongs at Saratoga. In his last start, he won the Poker (G3) going one mile on the turf at Saratoga on June 8 for Casse.

Loved (Medaglia d’Oro), a Grade 3 winner (2024 Falls City), worked four furlongs in 49.8 seconds at Turfway Park. It was the 20th fastest of 54 works at the distance. This was her first work since her last race. In her last start, she won the Falls City (G3) going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Churchill Downs on Nov. 28 for trainer Brendan Walsh.

Raqiya (Blue Point), a Grade 3 winner (2024 Goldikova), worked four furlongs in 48.2 seconds at Palm Beach Downs. It was the fastest of 24 works at the distance. Her previous work was nine days ago going four furlongs at Palm Beach Downs. In her last start, she won the Goldikova (G3) going one mile on the turf at Del Mar on Nov. 2 for trainer Owen Burrows.

Scalable (Speightstown), a Grade 3 winner (2024 Monmouth Oaks), worked four furlongs in 49.8 seconds at Belmont Park. It was the 13th fastest of 97 works at the distance. Her previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Belmont Park. In her last start, she placed third in the Comely (G3) going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Aqueduct on Nov. 30 for Pletcher.

Sovereignty (Into Mischief), a Grade 3 winner (2024 Street Sense), worked three furlongs in 38.0 seconds at Payson Park. It was the 11th fastest of 30 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start, he won the Street Sense (G3) going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Churchill Downs on Oct. 27 for Mott.

Verbal (Flintshire), a Grade 3 winner (2021 Cecil B. DeMille), worked four furlongs in 50.2 seconds at Turfway Park. It was the 25th fastest of 54 works at the distance. His previous work was 11 days ago going four furlongs at Skylight Training Center.
