Society Man worked Tuesday morning at Saratoga for the first time since finishing sixth in an optional-claiming allowance at Gulfstream Park in January.

The 4-year-old gelding was 16th in last year's Kentucky Derby after qualifying with a runner-up effort in the Grade 2 Wood Memorial. After the Derby, he won the Matt Winn (G3) in June and was third in the West Virginia Derby (G3) in August.

Trained by Danny Gargan, Society Man has had only two starts since, finishing second in an optional-claiming allowance in October before his January outing at Gulfstream. Tuesday, he breezed three furlongs in 36.29 seconds, the only work at the track and distance.
