Nutella Fella, who seemed to be on his way to the Kentucky Derby trail last fall until sidelined with an injury, is back on the work tab for trainer Gary Contessa.

The Runhappy colt breezed five furlongs in 1:01.2 at Saratoga on Tuesday, the fastest of nine works at the track and distance.

Nutella Fella won his July debut at Delaware Park and returned in September to win the Grade 1 Hopeful at Saratoga over Timberlake. But then his season ended with a hairline fracture in his left hind ankle was discovered days before he was expected to run in the Champagne (G1).
