Tuesday tab: Maryquitecontrary leads graded-stakes winners

Maryquitecontrary, who has finished in the money in all but two of her 14 starts, worked Tuesday at Gulfstream Park.

The 5-year-old daughter of First Dude breezed four furlongs in 48.7 seconds for trainer Edward Plesa Jr., sixth-fastest of 12 at the distance.

Maryquitecontrary won the listed Rampart Stakes at Gulfstream on Dec. 30 but is 0-for-2 this year.

She was one of four graded-stakes winners with published works in the U.S. on Tuesday.

Maryquitecontrary (First Dude), a Grade 2 winner (2023 Inside Information), worked four furlongs in 48.7 seconds at Gulfstream Park on Tuesday morning. It was the sixth fastest of 12 works at the distance. Her previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Gulfstream Park. In her last start she placed third in the Royal Delta (G3) going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Gulfstream Park on Feb. 17 for trainer Eddie Plesa.

Scaramouche (Munnings), a Grade 2 winner (2022 Gallant Bob), worked four furlongs in 49.7 seconds at Parx Racing on Tuesday morning. It was the 17th fastest of 28 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed ninth in the Gulfstream Park Sprint going six furlongs on the main track at Gulfstream Park on Feb. 24 for trainer Guadalupe Preciado.

Stitched (Mizzen Mast), a Grade 2 winner (2023 Wise Dan), worked four furlongs in 49.6 seconds at Fair Grounds on Tuesday morning. It was the 11th fastest of 16 works at the distance. His previous work was eight days ago going three furlongs at Fair Grounds. In his last start he placed 12th in the River City (G3) going 1 1/8 miles on the turf at Churchill Downs on Nov. 11 for trainer Gregory Foley.

Cazadero (Street Sense), a Grade 3 winner (2020 Bashford Manor), worked four furlongs in 50.5 seconds at Belmont Park on Tuesday morning. It was the 23rd fastest of 26 works at the distance. His previous work was eight days ago going three furlongs at Belmont Park. In his last start he placed eighth in a starter allowance race going 5 1/2 furlongs on the turf at Laurel Park on Nov. 5 for trainer David Jacobson.

Three horses in Nevada futures for Kentucky Derby 2024 also had published works Tuesday.

Bolt of Aurum (Bolt d'Oro) worked four furlongs in 52.8 seconds at Colts Neck Stables on Tuesday morning. It was the 12th fastest of 20 works at the distance. His previous work was eight days ago going four furlongs at Colts Neck Stables. In his last start he placed third in the James F. Lewis III going six furlongs on the main track at Laurel Park on Nov. 11 for trainer Jorge Duarte Jr.

Mischief Joke (Practical Joke) worked four furlongs in 47.5 seconds at Belmont Park on Tuesday morning. It was the second fastest of 26 works at the distance. His previous work was eight days ago going five furlongs at Belmont Park. In his last start he won the Rego Park going 6 1/2 furlongs on the main track at Aqueduct on Jan. 28 for trainer Mike Maker.

Molly's Town (Mo Town) worked four furlongs in 53.0 seconds at Horseshoe Indianapolis on Tuesday morning. It was the 39th fastest of 40 works at the distance. His previous work was 10 days ago going three furlongs at Horseshoe Indianapolis. In his last start he placed fifth in the Advent going 5 1/2 furlongs on the main track at Oaklawn on Dec. 8 for trainer Genaro Garcia.
