Tuesday tab: Leslie's Rose leads 16 graded-stakes winners

Leslie's Rose, winner of the Grade 1 Ashland last year but unraced since July, is back at work for trainer Todd Pletcher.

The 4-year-old filly by Into Mischief breezed five furlongs in 1:02.8 at Palm Beach Downs on Tuesday morning, the faster of two at the distance. 

Bought by Whisper Hill Farm for $1.15 million as a yearling, Leslie's Rose won three of her first four starts, including the Ashland, but then was 13th in the Kentucky Oaks (G1). She followed that by finishing second in the Acorn (G1) and was fourth of four in the Coaching Club American Oaks (G1). All three of those stakes were won by eventual horse of the year Thorpedo Anna.

Leslie's Rose was given time off after the CCA Oaks and returned to the tab on March 6, working about once a week since.

Leslie's Rose was one of 16 graded-stakes winners with published works Tuesday.

Future Is Now (Great Notion), a two-time Grade 2 winner (2024 Franklin, 2024 Intercontinental), worked three furlongs in 36.8 seconds at Keeneland on Tuesday morning. It was the third fastest of 28 works at the distance. Her previous work was 11 days ago going six furlongs at Fair Hill. In her last start she won the Franklin (G2) going 5 1/2 furlongs on the turf at Keeneland on Oct. 13 for trainer Michael Trombetta.

Coal Battle (Coal Front), a Grade 2 winner (2025 Rebel), worked four furlongs in 48.4 seconds at Churchill Downs on Tuesday morning. It was the 30th fastest of 57 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed third in the Arkansas Derby (G1) going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Oaklawn on March 29 for trainer Lonnie Briley.

Emmanuel (More Than Ready), a Grade 2 winner (2022 Pennine Ridge), worked four furlongs in 48.0 seconds at Churchill Downs on Tuesday morning. It was the 20th fastest of 57 works at the distance. His previous work was 17 days ago going five furlongs at Gulfstream Park. In his last start he placed 11th in a handicap going one mile and 70 yards on the synthetic at Gulfstream Park on Jan. 25 for trainer Mike Maker.

Instant Coffee (Bolt d'Oro), a Grade 2 winner (2022 Kentucky Jockey Club), worked four furlongs in 49.4 seconds at Belmont Park on Tuesday morning. It was the ninth fastest of 10 works at the distance. His previous work was 16 days ago going four furlongs at Palm Meadows. In his last start he placed third in the Challenger (G3) going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Tampa Bay Downs on March 8 for trainer Chad Summers.

Poster (Munnings), a Grade 2 winner (2024 Remsen), worked five furlongs in 1:02.0 at Turfway Park on Tuesday morning. It was the fastest of three works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed fourth in the Jeff Ruby Steaks (G3) going 1 1/8 miles on the synthetic at Turfway Park on March 22 for trainer Eoin Harty.
