The Triple Crown Tracker checks in with the horses who raced in the 2025 Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont, keeping up with what they have done since the classics.

2025 Kentucky Derby

One horse from the Kentucky Derby field contested the Grade 3 Oklahoma Derby. Publisher, still a maiden after 10 starts but competitive enough in stakes that he has remained at that level, was bet down to the 5-1 third choice in the field of seven. Under jockey Erik Asmussen, the Steve Asmussen trainee chased toward the rear of the compact field early, improved to midfield, but was no match in the lane and finished fourth, 8 1/2 lengths behind winner Bracket Buster.

Coal Battle had been entered in the Oklahoma Derby as well and was tabbed as the morning-line favorite. But according to a report by Mary Rampellini of Daily Racing Form, trainer Lonnie Briley did not think Coal Battle was ready to return yet and is looking toward the Zia Park Derby on Nov. 25 instead.

Goal Oriented fared the better of the Preakness pair, pressing the pace and flattening in the lane to finish third, 4 1/4 lengths behind Baeza. Gosger stumbled at the start and chased mid-pack but emptied out in the lane. He crossed the wire sixth, 11 3/4 lengths behind Baeza.

2025 Belmont Stakes

Three horses from the Belmont field were in action at Aqueduct on Saturday. Two of them raced on the lawn in the Jockey Club Derby (G3). Hill Road fared the better of the two. Sent off the favorite, he chased mid-pack, was unhurried even into the lane and rallied in the final furlong to get up for the show, 2 1/2 lengths behind Asbury Park, his stablemate in the Chad Brown barn. Todd Pletcher trainee Crudo set the pace in the Jockey Club Derby (G3), but the cavalry caught him in the final furlong and he settled for fourth, a neck behind Hill Road.

Uncaged, Crudo's stablemate in the Pletcher barn, made his first start since the Belmont in Saturday's Discovery. He was relegated to the rear early after bobbling at the start and never mustered a rally. He finished fourth in the field of five, 16 1/2 lengths behind odds-on favorite Rated by Merit.
