The Triple Crown Tracker checks in with the horses who raced in the 2024 Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont, keeping up with what they have done since the classics.

2024 Kentucky Derby

Five runners from the Kentucky Derby returned June 8 in the Belmont. The top finisher among them was Dornoch, who bounced back from a 10th-place outing in the run for the roses to win the last race of the Triple Crown series. Sierra Leone finished a troubled third in the Belmont, Honor Marie fourth, Mystik Dan eighth and Resilience crossed the wire 10th.

Two others from the Kentucky Derby field were in action recently in other races. Saturday, Domestic Product returned in the Pegasus, the local prep for the Haskell (G1). He attended close to the pace, but was no match for Tuscan Sky in the lane and finished second, 6 3/4 lengths behind the winner. West Saratoga stayed at Churchill Downs for his next start, prompting the pace but finishing fifth beaten 13 1/2 lengths in the Matt Winn (G3) on June 9.

Two Kentucky Derby entrants return Saturday for the Ohio Derby (G3). Catching Freedom, who ran fourth in the Kentucky Derby, and Mugatu, who did not draw in off the also-eligible list, both will make their first starts since the Preakness in Thistledown's signature race.

2024 Preakness Stakes

Three of the runners from the Preakness have been in action since the second jewel of the Triple Crown. The top two finishers, Seize the Grey and Mystik Dan, finished seventh and eighth in the Belmont, respectively. Imagination, seventh in the Preakness, chased and weakened to seventh in the Woody Stephens (G1) on the Belmont undercard.

In addition to Catching Freedom and Mugatu, Uncle Heavy also move on from the Preakness to the Ohio Derby on Saturday. Uncle Heavy drew the fifth post of 10, Catching Freedom drew the eighth gate and Mugatu breaks from the outside.

2024 Belmont Stakes

With the Belmont less than two weeks past, none of the horses in the field have returned to work yet. But with winner Dornoch being considered for the Haskell (G1) on July 20, it won't be long until the 2024 Belmont Stakes field starts priming for summer targets.
