Game Florida-bred filly Trip for A. J. powered from off the pace and gave trainer Milton Wolfson the most lucrative win of his career in the $300,000 Sunshine Millions Filly and Mare Turf Stakes on Saturday at Gulfstream Park.
The Trippi filly, who has spent her entire career racing at Gulfstream and Calder Race Course, powered to the lead in the stretch and held off a strong run by multiple Grade 3 winner Askbut I Won’ttell for the win. In the My Charmer Handicap (G3) on December 4 at Calder Race Course, Askbut I Won’ttell passed pacesetter Trip for A. J. in the stretch to win by three-quarters of a length.
