Tribal Drama Breezes for $500,000 In Reality Division

Hallmarc Racing’s Tribal Drama tuned up for a scheduled start in the $500,000 In Reality Division of the Florida Sire Stakes (Oct.3) Thursday morning at Gulfstream Park.

The undefeated 2-year-old son of Big Drama breezed six furlongs on a sealed track in 1:16.30 under exercise rider Stephanie LaRicci.

En route to South Florida after attending the recent sale at Keeneland, trainer David Fawkes was pleased with his staff’s reports on the tune-up for the third leg of the series for 2-year-olds sired by nominated Florida stallions.

“All reports were excellent. He pulled up bouncing. He finished up in 23-and-change (seconds),” said Fawkes by cell phone. “He went off nice and easy, :13 for the first eighth, :27 for the first quarter. He finished full of run and galloped out good.”

Tribal Drama captured the second leg of the FSS, the $300,000 Affirmed, at Gulfstream Sept. 5 in his second career start. The Florida-bred colt, who had debuted Aug. 2 with a 5 ¾-length victory, stalked the early pace before moving to the lead in the stretch and holding off a late bid by Abercorn by a neck.

Tribal Drama and his rivals in the In Reality will be asked to stretch out from seven furlongs to 1 1/16 miles.

A contingent of FSS candidates owned by Jacks or Better Farm and trained by Stanley Gold breezed at Gulfstream Park Thursday. All breezed five furlongs.

Ballet Diva, who captured the $300,000 Susan’s Girl Division Sept. 5, was timed in 1:02.17, while Susan’s Girl runner-up Silent Prayer breezed in 1:01.46 in preparation for the $500,000 My Dear Girl Division for 2-year-old fillies.
