Travers alumni: Latest on the 29 runners from 2018 to 2020

With the 2021 edition of the Travers (G1) coming Saturday, here is a look at where the 29 runners in the three previous Travers are today.

Most of the 2020 field remains active with the exceptions of Tiz the Law and Caracaro, who have been retired to stud. Third-place finisher Max Player found success in his most recent race, winning the 2021 Suburban Stakes (G2) at Saratoga.

For the 2019 Travers, winner Code of Honor made it to the winner's circle again on Aug. 16 in the Iselin (G3) at Saratoga. Laughing Fox and Endorsed both ran in allowance races this month, finishing second and third in their respective races.

Going back to the 2018 Travers, eight of the 10 runners are no longer racing. Seven have been retired, and Trigger Warning died after the 2018 Steel Valley Sprint. 

The two remaining active horses are Gronkowski, who runs mainly in Saudi Arabia, and Tenfold, who most recently worked at Ellis Park on Aug. 11.
