Trappe Shot Top Older Male In Power Ranking

Trappe Shot takes over as the top older male in this week's Power Ranking after the retirement of First Dude.
The True North winner is the latest in a parade of older males emerging to top a shattered division. They all chase Goldikova, once again the leader, though her rating has slipped in the past few weeks. Another strong show by Blind Luck, ranked #2 again this week, could put that filly in first.
Havre de Grace gets the 3rd spot this week, with Animal Kingdom in 4th.
The aforementioned Trappe Shot represents the older male division in 5th. The Tapit colt is pointing for the A. G. Vanderbilt stakes at Saratoga on August 8th.
Awesome Maria is in 6th, though she won't return this year due to an injury.
So You Think ranks 7th after his victory in the Coral Eclipse Stakes. Trainer Aiden O'Brien has The Arc next on So You Think's dance card.
Wednesday's Clash of the Milers at Goodwood should decide who is the best miler in Europe - #8 Canford Cliffs or #9 Frankel. A win by either horse would set up an intriguing BC Mile this November - though most fans will be rooting for Goldikova to triumph once more.
Rounding out the Top 10 is Twirling Candy, who returns to Del Mar with his sights set on the Pacific Classic. He will have to face Game on Dude, who has beaten him twice already this year, yet only ranks 28th.
Others knocking on the door:

Tizway sits at 11th, waiting to take on Flat Out (24th) in the Whitney.
Teaks North, emerging turf star, ranks 14th. He will run next in the Sword Dancer on August 13th.
Shackleford sits at 17th and will run in the Haskell this weekend.
Road to Churchill Downs
The first big 2-year-old stakes were run the past few weeks, with more to come at Saratoga and Del Mar. Here's the first official 2yo Top 10 (after those teaser Top 5's!). Add these kids to your BC Juvy list (or even that super-crazy 2012 Kentucky Derby list!)!
Overdriven tops after his solid score in the Sanford on Saratoga's opening weekend. Majestic City is 2nd, the leader of West-Coast juveniles after his romp in the Hollywood Juvenile Championship. Exfactor comes in 3rd, winner of the Bashford Manor.
Jack's In The Deck, shocker winner of the Belmont Futurity, slides into 4th. Jake Mo is tearing up the track at Prairie Meadows and ranks 5th.
The rest of the list is stacked with impressive maiden winners from both coasts, like Night Tide (7th), Power World (8th) and Secret Circle (9th).
The rest of the summer shines with excitement for these talented 2year-olds!
