Trainer Jeffrey Englehart was suspended for 10 days and fined $1,000 because of a finding of phenylbutazone in the sample taken after a race at Aqueduct in April.

The analgesic and anti-inflammatory substance was found in Profusion, a 5-year-old son of Pioneerof the Nile who finished fifth in the April 8 race.

Englehart waived his right to appeal, according to the ruling by the New York Gaming Commission, and the suspension was scheduled to begin on Wednesday.

Stewards ordered that Profusion is disqualified from any part of the purse and the that the purse be redistributed. He had received $1,240 for his fifth-place finish in the six-horse race.

In his most recent start, Profusion won a claiming race on June 8 at Finger Lakes, where Englehart is the leading trainer with 17 wins from 49 starts.

Daily Racing Form reported that this was the third medication-related suspension incurred by Englehart since 2016.
