Touchuponastar was the star of the Fair Grounds show Saturday, going gate to wire in the Louisiana Champions Day Classic Stakes for his ninth win in his last 10 starts.

It was the second year in a row the gelded son of Star Guitar won the race, which his father won three times. The win brings Touchuponastar's career record to 13: 10-2-1 and earned him the highest speed figures among last week's stakes winners. He got a 104 Brisnet Speed Rating for his effort and a 97 Beyer Speed Figure from Daily Racing Form.

Trained by Jeff Delhomme and ridden by Timothy Thornton, Touchuponastar covered the 1 1/8 miles in 1:50.12.

In the week's only graded stakes, Nothing Like You earned a 94 Brisnet rating and 79 Beyer for her win in the Starlet (G2).
