Braly Family Trust’s classy Tom’s Tribute champion older horse and grass competitor last summer at Del Mar after winning the Grade I Eddie Read Stakes and Grade II Del Mar Mile, tops a field of ten older horses in Friday’s $250,000 Seabiscuit Handicap.

Mike Smith has the mount on four-year-old Tom’s Tribute, the likely favorite in the Grade II test at a mile and one-sixteenth over Del Mar’s infield Jimmy Durante Turf Course.

Lining up against 123-pound highweight Tom’s Tribute will be Lil Bit O’Fun, Aaron Gryder; Za Approval, Victor Espinoza; Boozer, Kent Desormeaux; Mr. Commons, Brice Blanc; Pure Tactics, Rafael Bejarano; Kaigun, Corey Nakatani; Skyring, Tyler Baze; Avanzare, Gary Stevens, and Big Bane Theory, Joe Talamo.

The Seabiscuit Handicap is another feature of Del Mar’s Fall Turf Festival which will continue through closing day Sunday, Nov. 30 of the seaside track’s inaugural Bing Crosby Season.

Post time for the first of eight races Friday will be 12:30 p.m.
