Today's Derby contender works included a six furlong move from Sunland Derby hero Twice The Appeal. The Jeff Bonde trainee arrived at Churchill Downs on April 19 and squeezed in his work before the expected rains in Louisville this weekend.

Other April 22 Works:

 

Derby Trial hopeful Machen breezed 5f in 1:02.20 (17/37) at Churchill Downs. Indian Winter, Populist Politics, Rocking Out, Sky Music, Sovereign Default, and Z Appeal also worked on Friday.

 

 

Notes:

 

Shaun Bridgmohan will ride Santiva in the Kentucky Derby. Watch Me Go, currently 21st on the Derby graded earnings list, wants to run on the first Saturday in May. Calvin Borel will work Stay Thirsty (April 24) and Uncle Mo (April 26) for Todd Pletcher. Florida Derby runner-up Shackleford will work on Saturday.
