Today's Derby contender works included a five furlong breeze from Florida Derby hopeful To Honor And Serve. That was his third morning move since finishing a well-beaten 3rd in the Fountain of Youth Stakes. A handful of horses entered in the Louisiana Derby were also on the Monday worktab.  

 

#6 Crimson China – 5f turf bullet in 1:03.80 (1/9) at Palm Meadows.

#12 To Honor And Serve – Breezed 5f in 1:02.40 (3/11) at Payson Park.

#32 Arch Traveler – 7f in 1:27.50 at Palm Meadows.

#49 Machen – 4f in :48 (4/69) at Fair Grounds.

#53 Wilkinson – 4f in :48.20 (5/69) at Fair Grounds.

The Louisiana Derby attracted a baker’s dozen including Elite Alex, Machen, and 9-5 morning line favorite Mucho Macho Man. Impressive debut sprint winner Bind is entered in the 4th race at Fair Grounds on March 26. He is the 2-5 morning line favorite against six rivals in the optional claiming route.
