Today's Derby contender works included a five furlong breeze from Risen Star hero Mucho Macho Man and Animal Kingdom got his first feel of the Churchill oval. Twice The Appeal breezed under Calvin Borel and Shackleford uncorked a bullet under the Twin Spires.   

 

#8 Mucho Macho Man – 5f in 1:00.40 (4/36) at Churchill Downs.

#10 Animal Kingdom – 6f breeze in 1:13 (2/9) at Churchill Downs.

#13 Twice The Appeal – 6f in 1:15.60 (7/9) at Churchill Downs.

#19 Twinspired – 5f in 1:01.20 (5/31) at Churchill (training track).  

#35 Shackleford – 5f bullet in :58.80 (1/36) at Churchill Downs.

Some other notable 3yo’s were out for morning exercise on Saturday. Alternation drilled a 5f bullet in 1:00.40 (1/12) at Arlington Park. Bind breezed 4f in :48 (27/63) at Keeneland. Elite Alex uncorked a 5f bullet in :59 (1/26) at Delaware Park. Sway Away breezed 6f in 1:14 (4/9) at Churchill Downs.   

 

 

Notes:

 

Animal Kingdom, with Robby Albarado aboard, worked in company with Meistersinger and galloped out seven panels in 1:26.24. Mucho Macho Man was under a ride in his work and galloped out six furlongs in 1:14.82. Shackleford traveled fast throughout his Saturday drill and galloped out six furlongs in 1:12.58. Twice The Appeal had Calvin Borel in the irons and finished up a mile in 1:43 and change. Dialed In and Soldat arrived at Churchill Downs on Saturday afternoon.
