Thursday’s 8th race from Prairie Meadows (7-5-18) is the Grade 3, $200,000 Iowa Oaks for 3-year-old fillies traveling a mile and a sixteenth on the main track.
#5 Cosmic Burst (6-1) is 4-for-7 overall and earned her best career numbers in a sharp score in the G3 Honeybee in March. The fresh, versatile filly fired a bullet for this June 20.
#9 Sassy Sienna (4-1) attended the pace and ended up 6th of 14 in a productive edition of the G1 Kentucky Oaks May 4. She traded places with my top choice Cosmic Burst in the Trapeze, Martha Washington, Honeybee, and Fantasy, and Geroux has options with the versatile sort.
#4 She's a Julie (5-1) ran well in her last two Churchill starts vs. optional claiming foes. She looms a pace factor at the very least for the productive Santana/Asmussen team.
#7 Testing One Two (8-1) is a talented 5-for-7 LA-bred filly. Look for her to stalk the pace under her new rider Prado.
#6 Rayya (5-2) will likely be overbet because she hails from the Baffert barn. She fired exacta shots in her first five starts in Dubai, and she broke awkwardly and never got involved in the Kentucky Oaks in her US bow. She adds blinkers and will probably show speed if she gets out of the gate.
