Thursday works: Pletcher stars lead 13 graded-stakes winners
Fierceness worked Thursday at Saratoga for the first time since winning the Grade 1 Pacific Classic on Aug. 30 and earning an automatic berth in the Breeders' Cup Classic.
The 4-year-old City of Light colt breezed four furlongs in 50.34 seconds on the Saratoga dirt training track, 23rd fastest of 41 works at the distance for trainer Todd Pletcher.
Antiquarian, also a Pletcher trainee who qualified for the Breeders' Cup Classic with his win in the Jockey Club Gold Cup (G1), breezed Thursday as well. The 4-year-old Preservationist colt went four furlongs in 50-82 seconds, 31st fastest of 41 at the distance.
Mindframe, who lost his rider in the Jockey Club Gold Cup, also worked four furlongs for Pletcher at Saratoga, breezing four furlongs in 49.77 seconds, 11th fastest of the 41 at the distance.
