Workouts: Spendarella is 1 of 16 graded winners on the tab
With the possibility she will race next in the Grade 1 Beverly D. at Colonial Downs, 4-year-old Spendarella had a modest, five-furlong workout Thursday morning at Fair Hill in Maryland.
The daughter of Karakontie, who finished second last month in the Just a Game (G1) at Belmont Park, was clocked at 1:02.0. Two weeks ago, trainer Graham Motion said, “I could easily see myself looking at a race like the Beverly D.,” which has been transplanted from Arlington Park via Churchill Downs to its new Virginia home. It will be run Aug. 12 on the Arlington Million (G1) undercard.
