Thursday tab: Ted Noffey leads 12 graded winners in works
Ted Noffey, the likely favorite for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile in 15 days, had a maintenance breeze Thursday at Saratoga on a light morning of workouts for graded-stakes winners.
Back on the tab for the first time since he won the Grade 1 Breeders’ Futurity on Oct. 4, Spendthrift’s 2-year-old Into Mischief colt drilled a half-mile in 49.4 seconds on the Spa’s Oklahoma dirt training track.

“I’m happy with all of them. They all galloped well and we’re counting the days,” trainer Todd Pletcher told the New York Racing Association about his Thursday workers including Ted Noffey, Tommy Jo and Scalable.
Already the Las Vegas futures favorite for Kentucky Derby 2026, Ted Noffey takes a 3-for-3 record to Del Mar for the 1 1/8-mile Juvenile.

Ted Noffey (Into Mischief), a two-time Grade 1 winner (2025 Breeders’ Futurity, 2025 Hopeful), worked four furlongs in 49.4 seconds at Saratoga. It was the 14th fastest of 30 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start, he won the Breeders’ Futurity (G1) going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Keeneland on Oct. 4 for trainer Todd Pletcher.
Tommy Jo (Into Mischief), a two-time Grade 1 winner (2025 Alcibiades, 2025 Spinaway), worked four furlongs in 48.0 seconds at Saratoga. It was the second fastest of 30 works at the distance. This was her first work since her last race. In her last start, she won the Alcibiades (G1) going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Keeneland on Oct. 3 for trainer Todd Pletcher.
Be Your Best (Muhaarar), a Grade 1 winner (2025 Gamely), worked four furlongs in 48.4 seconds at Palm Meadows. It was the fastest of eight works at the distance. Her previous work was six days ago going four furlongs at Palm Meadows. In her last start, she placed third in the Flower Bowl (G2) going 1 3/8 miles on the turf at Saratoga on Aug. 30 for trainer Saffie Joseph Jr.
Get Her Number (Dialed In), a Grade 1 winner (2020 American Pharoah), worked four furlongs in 48.9 seconds at Remington Park. It was the 21st fastest of 48 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Remington Park. In his last start, he placed third in a claiming race going 6 1/2 furlongs on the main track at Del Mar on Sept. 6 for trainer Antonio García.
Johannes (Nyquist), a Grade 1 winner (2024 Shoemaker Mile), worked five furlongs in 1:00.4 at Santa Anita. It was the second fastest of 12 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Santa Anita. In his last start, he won the City of Hope Mile (G2) going one mile on the turf at Santa Anita on Sept. 27 for trainer Tim Yakteen.
Nutella Fella (Runhappy), a Grade 1 winner (2023 Hopeful), worked four furlongs in 48.5 seconds at Saratoga. It was the sixth fastest of 30 works at the distance. His previous work was five days ago going four furlongs at Saratoga. In his last start, he placed fourth in the True North (G3) going 6 1/2 furlongs on the main track at Saratoga on June 7 for trainer Gary Contessa.
Gun Song (Gun Runner), a two-time Grade 2 winner (2025 Beldame, 2024 Black-Eyed Susan), worked four furlongs in 49.2 seconds at Belmont Park. It was the 24th fastest of 78 works at the distance. This was her first work since her last race. In her last start, she won the Beldame (G2) going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Belmont at the Big A on Sept. 26 for trainer Mark Hennig.

This was her first work since her last race. In her last start, she won the Miss Grillo (G2) going 1 1/16 miles on the turf at Belmont at the Big A on Oct. 4 for trainer Kelsey Danner.
Cornishman (Curlin), a Grade 3 winner (2025 Prairie Meadows Cornhusker Handicap), worked three furlongs in 36.5 seconds at Zia Park. It was the second fastest of six works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start, he placed fifth in the West Virginia Governor’s going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Mountaineer on Aug. 3 for trainer Dan McFarlane.
Dream On (Not This Time), a Grade 3 winner (2025 Penn Mile), worked four furlongs in 48.6 seconds at Churchill Downs. It was the 12th fastest of 46 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Churchill Downs. In his last start, he placed sixth in the Franklin-Simpson (G1) going 6 1/2 furlongs on the turf at Kentucky Downs on Sept. 6 for trainer Mark Casse.
