Thursday works: Sibelius leads 11 graded-stakes winners on tab
Sibelius breezed four furlongs in 49.65 seconds Thursday at Palm Meadows as he prepares to seek a second win in the Group 1 Dubai Golden Shaheen on March 30.
The 6-year-old gelded son of Not This Time is following the same path ahead of this year's race at Meydan Racecourse, with wins in the Mr. Prospector (G3) in December 2022 and 2023 and the Pelican in feburary 2023 and 2024.
Trainer Jerry O'Dwyer told BloodHorse that Ryan Moore again will ride Sibelius in the Golden Shaheen this year.

It was the fastest of 10 works at the distance. Her previous work was six days ago going four furlongs at Palm Meadows. In her last start she placed second in the Cotillion (G1) going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Parx Racing on Sept. 23 for trainer Brendan Walsh.
