Thursday works: Fillies, mares lead 22 graded winners on tab

Ladies took the spotlight on training tracks Thursday morning, including 2023 champion older dirt female Idiomatic and champion 3-year-old filly Pretty Mischievous.

Idiomatic worked four furlongs in 49.0 seconds at Fair Grounds, and Pretty Mischievous breezed four furlongs in 50.25 seconds at Palm Meadows. Neither has raced since last fall.

Other fillies and mares prepping for their 2024 debut included Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf winner Hard to Justify, who went four furlongs in 48.6 seconds at Payson Park.

Pretty Mischievous (Into Mischief), a three-time Grade 1 winner (2023 Test, 2023 Acorn, 2023 Kentucky Oaks), worked four furlongs in 50.2 seconds at Palm Meadows on Thursday morning. It was the 20th fastest of 33 works at the distance. Her previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Palm Meadows. In her last start she placed second in the Cotillion (G1) going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Parx Racing on Sept. 23 for trainer Brendan Walsh.
