Trainer Jose Pinchin reported plans to send undefeated Three Rules to the Gulfstream Park racetrack Friday morning for his first breeze since completing a sweep of the 2016 Florida Sire Stakes (FSS) series Oct. 1.

The son of Gone Astray is being pointed to the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) at Santa Anita Nov. 5.

“He’s been doing super. He’ll work Friday morning,” Pinchin said. “He’ll ship to California on the 31st (of October).”

Three Rules has won all five of his career starts by a combined total of 31 lengths at Gulfstream. Shade Tree Thoroughbreds’ homebred colt captured the FSS finale, the $500,000 In Reality, by a handy 10 lengths in his first start around two turns.

“I’m excited but not nervous,” said the low-key Pinchin of Three Rules’ scheduled start in the Juvenile. “It’s another race. The worst he can do is lose.”

Defying Gravity Seeks Seventh Win in a Row in Thursday Feature

Defying Gravity is scheduled to put a six-race winning streak on the line in Thursday’s featured eighth race at Gulfstream Park West, where the 5-year-old mare is slated to face nine younger, less experienced fillies and mares in the 1 1/16-mile entry-level allowance on turf.

Trained by Jose Pinchin, the daughter of Wildcat Heir started her winning ways by defeating $10,000 claimers on June 5 before reeling off five more wins against claiming and optional claiming company.

“This race is by far her toughest race,” said Pinchin, who owns the mare in partnership with Kenneth Doyen. “But she’s won a lot of races and most of the horses have won one or two. So she’s got some experience in her corner. But it’s going to be a tough race.”

Emisael Jaramillo has the call on Defying Gravity, replacing Cornelio Velasquez, who recently ventured to Saudi Arabia for a four-month riding stint.

Defying Gravity, who has won 11 of 35 career starts for Pinchin, is rated third in the morning line at 4-1 behind Truth, the 9-5 favorite trained by Marty Wolfson, and Deedeezee, a Todd Pletcher trainee who is rated second at 7-2.

Formerly trained by Jim Jerkens, Truth broke her maiden at Saratoga two starts back. The 3-year-old daughter of Arch finished second behind Time and Motion in her debut last March at Gulfstream. Time and Motion captured the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup (G1) at Keeneland Oct. 15.

Deedeezee finished second in an allowance at Gulfstream Park Sept. 25.
