It might not have been the highest-profile race, but the Grade 3 Maryland Sprint was the fastest graded stakes of the weekend.

With John Velazquez aboard, Straight No Chaser led from gate to wire, winning the six-furlong sprint at Pimlico in 1:08.27, a record for the stakes, and picked up his first graded stakes in the process. The track record for the distance is 1:07.70 by Covfefe in 2019.

For his effort, 4-year-old Straight No Chaser earned a 104 Brisnet Speed Rating, a 107 Beyer Speed Figure, according to Daily Racing Form, and a 127 TimeformUS Speed Figure. All were the highest figures for stakes winners this weekend.

The focus at Pimlico on Saturday was the Preakness, which Velazquez won for the first time aboard National Treasure. The colt earned a 100 Brisnet, 98 Beyer and 117 TimeformUS for the race.

Here are the figures for last week's highest-rated stakes winners, ranked by Brisnet Speed Ratings, with Beyer Speed Figures and TimeformUS Speed Figures where available.
