These runners had the highest weekend speed figures

Nest moved to the top of the 3-year-old fillies division with a 4 1/4-length win in the Alabama (G1) Saturday at Saratoga, earning top speed figures for the effort.

Among graded-stakes winners, Nest had the co-highest Brisnet Speed Rating of the weekend, a 104, which tied with Canadian (G2) winner Fev Rover. Nest also received a 99 Beyer Speed Figure and a 121 TimeformUS Speed Figure.

Nest and jockey Irad Ortiz Jr. covered the 1 1/4-mile distance in 2:03.14 for trainer Todd Pletcher. 

Another weekend sensation was Echo Again, the 2-year-old Gun Runner colt who debuted Saturday for trainer Steve Asmussen. Ricardo Santana Jr. rode him to a 6 3/4-length win in a maiden special weight at Saratoga, covering 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:15.89. He earned a 99 Brisnet, a 94 Beyer and a 109 TimeformUS figure.

And the ageless Rated R Superstar – well, he's 9 – got his third win this year and first since March in the Governor's Cup at Remington Park. David Cabrera guided him to a 1 1/2-length win, going 1 1/8 miles in 1:51.20, picking up a 97 Brisnet and an 89 Beyer.
