These runners had the highest weekend speed figures
An allowance optional claiming race at Gulfstream on Saturday might be inconsequential, but its winner, Reinvestment Risk, earned the highest Beyer Speed Figure of the weekend.
The 4-year-old Upstart colt, trained by Chad Brown, went 6 1/2 furlongs in 115.73 to win by 3 lengths and earn a 103 Beyer.
In 2020, Reinvestment Risk was second in both the Hopeful (G1) and the Champagne (G1) before finishing 10th in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile. He raced once last year, a third-place effort in a Belmont allowance on June 3. Saturday's race was his first start since.
Only five runners made the Daily Racing Form's Beyer leaderboard for the weekend. Their figures are shown below, along with Brisnet Speed Ratings and TimeformUS Speed Figures, where available. Also shown are Brisnet and TimeformUS figures for Un Ojo, winner of the Rebel (G2) as a 75-1 long shot.
