On May 30 Count Again won his second Grade 1 race of the year, running down Smooth Like Strait to win the Shoemaker Mile. He ran the Shoemaker over Santa Anita's firm turf in 1:32.40, less than a second off the track record of 1:31.69 set by Vyjack in 2016.

The son of Awesome Again began his 7-year-old campaign with victories in both the Thunder Road (G3) and the Kilroe Mile (G1) at Santa Anita. Though he finished sixth behind Shirl's Speight in the Maker's Mark Mile (G1) April 15 at Keeneland, he crossed the wire only 1 3/4 lengths behind the winner, and found the wire first again on his return to California.

For his effort, Count Again earned the weekend's highest Beyer Speed Figure from Daily Racing Form, a 108. He also earned a 105 Brisney figure, their highest stakes-winning figure of the weekend.

There Goes Harvard, the upset winner of the Hollywood Gold Cup (G1), earned a 100 Beyer, making him the only other weekend stakes winner to crack triple digits on that scale. His graded stakes debut also earned a 104 Brisnet figure.

That 104 Brisnet tied him with Make Mischief, winner of the Critical Eye Handicap at Belmont on May 30, for the second-highest stakes-winning Brisnet figure of the weekend. Make Mischief's 99 Beyer from that victory was the third-leading stakes-winning figure of the week.

Here are the horses with the weekend's top Beyer Speed Figures, with Brisnet and TimeformUS figures where they are available.
