Older dirt males usually dominate the top of the charts for highest speed figures each year, but in typical 2020 fashion they made up only four of the top 10 figures this year.
Top 3-year-olds Authentic, Tiz the Law and Gamine were right near the top of the Beyer Speed Figures, Brisnet Speed Ratings and TimeformUS Speed Figures.
Factor This, Faction Cat and Tarnawa put forth the highest turf numbers of the year.
The three metrics were split on which horse was the fastest of 2020.
Beyer Speed Figures gave the edge to Volatile for his victory in the Aristides Stakes.
Brisnet Speed Ratings say that Tiz the Law's performance in the Travers (G1) was the fastest of the year.
Timeform favors Gamine as the most swift runner of 2020. She has multiple high figures, but her Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint number of 133 tops them all.
