Patriot Spirit received the highest Brisnet Speed Rating, 103, among weekend stakes winners for his victory in the renewal of the Illinois Derby at Hawthorne.

With Julio Felix aboard, the 3-year-old son of Constitution led the five-horse field at every call and won by 5 3/4 lengths over favorite Real Men Violin. Patriot Spirit, trained by Michael Campbell, got his third win from seven career starts. He also earned an 85 Beyer Speed Figure from Daily Racing Form.

The second-highest Brisnet rating, 102, went to Skippylongstocking for his win in the Grade 2 Oaklawn Handicap. With Jose Ortiz riding for trainer Saffie Joseph Jr., the 5-year-old son of Exaggerator won the 1 1/8-mile race by two lengths as the favorite.

He also earned a 107 Beyer Speed Figure for his performance, the highest of the weekend.
