Gunite returned from his overseas trip with a win in the Aristides Stakes at Churchill Downs on Saturday, and he earned the highest speed figures of the week for graded-stakes winners.

With Tyler Gaffalione riding, the Steve Asmussen trainee covered the six furlongs in 1:08.46, earning a 103 Brisnet Speed Rating and a 108 Beyer Speed Figure from Daily Racing Form.

After starting the year by winning the King Cotton Stakes at Oaklawn, Gunite was second in the Riyadh Dirt Sprint (G3) and third in the Dubai Golden Shaheen (G1).

Skelly, also trained by Asmussen, tied for the second-highest Brisnet and Beyer figures for his win in the black-type Speightstown Sprint at Lone Star Park. With Ricardo Santana Jr. aboard, he led at every call and went six furlongs in 1:09.63. He got a 102 from both Brisnet and Beyer. It was the fifth win in a row for the 4-year-old son of Practical Joke.

Here are the figures for last week’s highest-rated stakes winners, ranked by Brisnet Speed Ratings, with Beyer Speed Figures and TimeformUS Speed Figures where available.
