After setting records in 2018, the staff at Horse Racing Nation would like to thank readers for raising the bar much higher in 2019.

More than 20.5 million visits were recorded across HRN properties, marking an 81% year-over-year spike. Page views also reached above 48 million for the first time in site history to measure a 61% increase.

"Our readers have shown us that they are hungry for more racing coverage of the sport they love, and Horse Racing Nation is excited to deliver that to them each day whether on the web or through our apps," said HRN’s CEO, Mark Midland. "Last year was a big year for us, and we are looking forward to even bigger things in 2020."

Original reporting leading up to and following a controversial Kentucky Derby spurred readership, as did a number of new additions to the website.

In April, HRN launched free mobile apps for Apple and Android devices that have been enjoyed by thousands of readers.

HRN added horse racing entries and results to its array of offerings.

The editorial staff expanded with the additions of West Coast Editor Victor Ryan, Online Producer Ryan Dickey and Weekend Editor Mary Schweitzer.

“That’s not to mention a growing group of contributors that have us publishing more than ever,” said HRN’s editor, Jonathan Lintner. “We’ve defied news industry trends by hiring new staffers and delivering more information that racing fans are seeking.

“We’ll have more on the way in the new year and the run up to the 2020 Kentucky Derby.”
