Test runner-up Faypien heads field in Beverly J. Lewis

Seven 3-year-old fillies will get together in the $75,000 Beverly J. Lewis at six furlongs. Faypien, who was second behind American Gal in the Grade I Test Aug. 5 at Saratoga, heads the field in the Lewis.
Owned by Baoma Corporation and trained by Hall of Famer Bob Baffert, the daughter of Ghostzapper and the Freud mare Mighty Eros has won three of five and banked $305,680.
Prior to the Test, in which she was defeated by four lengths, Faypien was a game winner of the Grade II Summertime Oaks at 1 1/16 miles June 17 at Santa Anita.
Queen Laila will make her first start since an authoritative victory in an optional claimer June 4.
Trained by Simon Callaghan for owners Neville Callaghan and Ben McElroy, the daughter of The Factor and the End Sweep mare Charismatic Lady is 2-for-3 with earnings of $70,680. In her lone defeat, she was fourth in the May 14 Angels Flight, 2 ¾ lengths behind winner Faypien.
Owned by Edward J. Brown, Jr., Karen Norton and trainer Jeff Bonde, Princess Karen is scheduled to make her first start since finishing fifth in the Angels Flight.
The Stay Thirsty filly out of the Jade Hunter mare Chitka has won twice in five races and banked $78,705.
Fourth as the favorite in an optional claimer July 29 for Paymaster Racing LLC and trainer Richard Baltas, Delitefull Lady has a win in three starts. The Dialed In filly out of the Birdonthewire mare Bird Chatter has earned $40,800.
Freedom Journey, who had a two-race win streak snapped when she finished off the board in an optional claimer Aug. 20, will try to rebound for BG Stables and Palma.
The California-bred daughter of Good Journey and the Matty G mare Hay Whatsamaddau is 2-for-4 with a bankroll of $72,345.
Trained by Miller for owners Ike and Dawn Thrash, Auntjenn, who was supplemented to the Lewis for $1,500, will make her Los Alamitos debut after finishing fifth of six in an optional claimer Aug. 17.
The Uncle Mo filly out of the Quiet American mare World Event has two wins in 12 races and earnings of $126,282.
Miller also supplemented Chalon for Gary Hartunian’s Rockingham Ranch.
Fourth in the Test, the Dialed In filly out of the Menifee mare Fall Fantasy has won three of five and earned $182,545. Her biggest victory came in the $150,000 Jersey Girl June 11 at Belmont Park.
