Ted Noffey leads as Kentucky Derby future, sire wagers close
With Kentucky Derby 2026 still 22 weeks away, the pari-mutuel field of all other 2023 foals closed as the 2-1 favorite in pool 2 of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager,and Spendthrift Farm’s unbeaten Breeders’ Cup Juvenile winner Ted Noffey from the barn of two-time Derby winner Todd Pletcher was the 7-1 second choice.
Further Ado, winner of Saturday’s Grade 2 Kentucky Jockey Club, also attracted mild interest from bettors at 13-1.

Pool 1 of the KDFW, which covered Oct. 29-31, had record early-November total betting of $184,492, with $143,448 in the win pool and $41,044 in exactas, which brings the early future wager total betting to $501,927.
Inaugurated in 1999, the Kentucky Derby Future Wager has been offered for a 27th consecutive year.
Other Future Wager dates are set for Jan. 16-18 (pool 3); Feb. 13-15 (pool 4); March 13-15 (pool 5) and April 2-4 (pool 6). Pool 5 will include the Kentucky Oaks Future Wager.
