The Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association is hosting a Pedigree & Conformation clinic February 28th at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Florida. The day long clinic is strategically positioned the day after Fasig Tipton’s Florida breeze show and the day before the sale begins. Features include conformation presentations from C. Reid McClellan, PhD, of the Groom Elite program, rail side analysis of working horses by syndicate manager Anna Seitz, trainer Michelle Nihei’s viewpoint on selection, auction procedures from Fasig Tipton, veterinarian perspectives on common X-ray findings and airways from Dr. Jeff Berk and a live conformation workshop with two-year-olds in training at the DeMeric and RiceHorse consignments. Speakers and classroom lectures will include renowned trainers, veterinarians, owners, agents, etc.
“The first clinic of the year is always anticipated after a few months away from the Breeders’ Cup World Championships. Pedigree and conformation are topics that everyone should educate themselves on and hearing different opinions from professionals at each aspect of a horse’s career is always beneficial,” said Aly Strainer, TOBA Director of Marketing & Membership. “All are welcome to attend. Regardless of your experience level, aspirations or history, TOBA educational seminars are geared towards expanding your knowledge of the Thoroughbred and racing in an all-encompassing experience.”
The 2017 schedule and registration are available at www.toba.org. TOBA members receive a discounted rate for each clinic and non-members can join TOBA today to take advantage of the discount.
